Product Engineer Intern

What you will do

• Research products, components, and emerging technologies to define specifications for new product introductions.
• Support product development projects from concept through launch under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Contribute to cross-functional evaluations of opportunities for innovative products.
• Review business plans and recommend technologies that support product and business outcomes.
• Apply AI tools, including natural language processing, computer vision, and generative models, to research and development activities.
• Perform product comparison testing and create concept sketches, engineering drawings, logic diagrams, and prototype documentation.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a technical degree program in engineering, quality, sciences, technology, or a related field.
• At least three semesters remaining before graduation.
• Strong attention to detail, precision, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, take accountability, collaborate across functions, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work approximately 10–20% of the time.
• Availability for approximately 20–25 hours per week during the school year and approximately 40 hours per week during the summer.

Nice to have

• SolidWorks experience.
• Exposure to product development, prototyping, product testing, Quality Management Systems, or related engineering processes.
• Interest in applying AI and emerging technologies to engineering and product development.
