Technology Cloud Security Architect (Cloud Security)

Location: Reston, United States; hybrid schedule with regular in-office presence

Salary: $120,000–$175,000 annual; senior-level candidates may be eligible for a higher range.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain cloud security architecture frameworks aligned with enterprise strategy and organizational objectives.
• Architect, design, and implement security technologies, reference patterns, controls, and solutions across cloud environments.
• Assess risks, vulnerabilities, business impact, and emerging threats; recommend mitigation technologies and strategies.
• Lead security architecture reviews, secure SDLC guidance, identity and access management, encryption, monitoring, and network security initiatives.
• Coordinate incident response strategies, security assessments, solution lifecycles, and cloud security research and development.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, stakeholders, and technology staff while providing security training and technical guidance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of direct applicable experience in cloud architecture security.
• Extensive experience configuring security controls and securely migrating enterprise applications to Azure or AWS.
• Experience developing cloud security frameworks using industry practices such as CSA and NIST CSF.
• Experience with access controls, DLP, WAF, firewalls, anti-malware, anomaly detection, encryption, network security, monitoring, and secure SDLC.
• Ability to work extended or weekend hours, travel as required, and participate in a 7x24 on-call rotation.
• Strong analytical, communication, customer service, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer information systems.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, ISO 27000, enterprise security controls, incident response, and SDLC.
• Experience leading project teams and translating business requirements into architectural deliverables and technical specifications.
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CCSK, or equivalent security and cloud certifications.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud architecture or cloud security certifications.
