TL;DR
C# Developer (.NET/Azure): Building and supporting enterprise-level .NET software systems for the Department of Veterans Affairs with an accent on C# backend development, REST APIs, database engineering, and CI/CD delivery. Focus on designing reusable Agile solutions, integrating and optimizing applications, automating testing, and meeting U.S. government security and citizenship requirements.
Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey, and New York will not be considered.
Salary: $85,389–$116,975 per year

What you will do
- Plan, define requirements for, integrate, test, deploy, operate, maintain, and support software systems and subsystems.
- Develop .NET backend applications with C#, MVC, RESTful APIs, SQL Server, and Entity Framework.
- Build reusable solutions within Agile development processes and support applications deployed to production.
- Implement automated testing, modularization, CI/CD pipelines, performance optimization, and secure engineering practices.
- Document software designs and collaborate with stakeholders and development colleagues on technical solutions.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required for this opportunity.
- Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance and pass the applicable government investigation.
- At least five years of professional software development experience with .NET technologies, with experience delivering complex enterprise applications and leading development initiatives.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or another engineering or technical discipline, with the required experience level for the degree.
- Strong knowledge of C#, .NET/.NET Core, object-oriented programming, design patterns, MVC, RESTful APIs, SQL Server, Entity Framework, unit testing, Git, and CI/CD.
- Experience with Azure or AWS, Agile methodologies, DevOps and infrastructure as code, web and API security, performance tuning, code reviews, and development tools including Visual Studio.
Nice to have
- Experience with EDI X.12 medical claims, including 837, 834, and 277 transactions.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
