Senior Claims Examiner

Location: Hybrid role in Red Bank, New Jersey; US work authorization required.

Salary: $78,000–$134,090 per year, plus potential eligibility for the annual incentive plan.

What you will do

• Manage moderate- to high-complexity claims across environmental, products liability, life sciences, toxic tort, professional liability, and general liability lines.
• Analyze policy language, coverage issues, coverage defenses, indemnity obligations, liability, damages, and claim exposure.
• Set and maintain appropriate reserves while developing claim strategies for timely and effective outcomes.
• Direct defense and coverage counsel, consultants, and experts; participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and other dispute-resolution proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements within authority and prepare recommendations, claim summaries, large-loss reports, and management updates.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product development, risk management, brokers, and insureds while monitoring litigation budgets and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; a Juris Doctor or other advanced degree is preferred.
• 4–6 years of complex casualty claims-handling experience.
• Strong knowledge of coverage analysis and specialty insurance policy interpretation.
• Experience managing litigated claims and working with outside counsel.
• Ability to evaluate liability, damages, and exposure in moderate- to high-severity matters and make independent decisions within delegated authority.
• US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with multiple-party claims, contractual indemnity, additional insured exposures, and complex insurance programs.
• Professional designations such as CPCU, AIC, SCLA, or equivalent.
