Process Engineer I

What you will do

• Design manufacturing facilities, process equipment, supporting infrastructure, and critical utility systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, including heat transfer, pressure drop, material and energy balances, and basic equipment sizing.
• Prepare process design deliverables such as block and process flow diagrams, equipment lists, datasheets, utility summaries, and P&IDs.
• Coordinate process design documentation with architects, engineers, designers, clients, and external project members.
• Support studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Support field installation teams and perform construction site observations under the direction of experienced engineers.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or bioprocess engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience in a design firm setting.
• Fundamental knowledge of process modeling, material and energy balances, fluid mechanics, hydraulic modeling, heat transfer, and basic sizing calculations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and engineering software for drafting, process modeling, and calculations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-discipline project teams.
• Ability to perform basic engineering design calculations under the supervision of an engineer.

Nice to have

• Registration for or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• Fundamental experience with chemistry and biochemistry.
