Mechanical Engineer - Electronics Packaging

What you will do

• Research, plan, design, and develop power supplies, power distribution systems, and electronics packaging.
• Create new product designs, modernization projects, and upgrades while meeting cost, quality, reliability, schedule, and producibility targets.
• Generate 3D models and perform mechanical, thermal, shock, vibration, tolerance, numerical, and CFD analyses.
• Design experiments, evaluate test results, and validate engineering analyses.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and business functions through integrated product team activities.
• Prepare and review proposals, technical reports, procedures, correspondence, and other product development documentation.

Requirements

• 1–5 years of electronics packaging design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanics of materials, shock, vibration, heat transfer, dimensional tolerance analysis, electronics packaging, and electrical power distribution systems.
• Knowledge of military and aerospace design standards.
• Proficiency with mechanical 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor and familiarity with Ansys Mechanical, Flotherm, and Fluent.
• Technical English proficiency is required. Access to controlled data may be restricted to US Persons, and selected applicants may need to meet US government security eligibility requirements.
