O&M Mechanical Technician (Waste-to-Energy)

What you will do

• Perform planned, preventative, and reactive mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and process systems.
• Diagnose mechanical faults, complete repairs, and implement corrective actions to reduce plant downtime.
• Inspect, lubricate, and adjust equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
• Support outage planning and execution with operations and maintenance teams.
• Participate in inspections, risk assessments, audits, and health, safety, and environmental initiatives.

Requirements

• Mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy process or industrial environment.
• Experience with conveyors, gearboxes, steam-raising plant, rotating equipment, valves, and hydraulic systems.
• Skills in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, mechanical problem resolution, and major maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of maintenance systems, spares management, and technical documentation control.
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship and Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.

Nice to have

• IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Additional plant, maintenance, or safety-related certifications.
