Engineering Technician (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Diagnose manufacturing issues and implement permanent solutions using structured problem-solving methods.
• Monitor OEE metrics, yield, and downtime, escalating critical events and planning recovery actions.
• Support equipment and product changeovers while reducing changeover time through SMED and continuous improvement.
• Complete and improve preventive maintenance activities, manage spare-parts inventory, and optimise equipment performance.
• Design and improve jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.
• Train production operators in the correct use of process equipment and product specifications while following safety, environmental, and energy-management requirements.

Requirements

• Previous trade experience as a toolmaker, fitter, electrician, mechanic, or similar, or NFQ Level 6 in mechanical, manufacturing, mechatronics, or electrical disciplines.
• Hands-on ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve manufacturing and technical issues systematically.
• Mechanical, electrical, or Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desirable.
• Experience with grinding, moulding, EDM, or laser processes is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
