NPD & Operations Buyer

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid work with office attendance averaging 3 days per week

Salary: €56,000–€69,000 per year, including holiday pay

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end procurement for new product development, from product idea through first production.
• Work with category buyers to select suppliers based on strategic fit, cost, capacity, quality, scalability, and sustainability.
• Promote standardization and reuse of existing materials and supplier solutions.
• Build and maintain procurement master data and develop scalable tools for a non-ERP environment.
• Execute RFQs, supplier onboarding, quote analysis, order follow-up, and cost optimization activities.
• Manage supplier relationships, resolve issues, and monitor performance against targets.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations, ideally in FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Strong project management, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of or genuine curiosity about raw materials, inclusions, packaging, market dynamics, and sustainability trends.
• Ability to work hands-on in ambiguity, create clarity, and manage multiple NPD workstreams.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Ability and willingness to work from the Amsterdam office approximately 3 days per week.
