Transportation Advisor (Logistics)

Location: Hybrid position in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; employees work at the hirify.global campus four days per week and must live within 50 miles of the campus.

Salary: $5,960.29–$9,834.48 per month.

What you will do

• Advise leadership and stakeholders on transportation programs, strategy, policies, procedures, and operational priorities.
• Analyze purchased transportation trends, carrier data, metrics, and market conditions to support business decisions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and develop process improvements that increase consistency and efficiency.
• Lead or support transportation initiatives, including RFPs, contract negotiations, carrier pricing, and sourcing decisions.
• Build cross-functional and external carrier relationships and provide guidance to other employees.
• Develop presentations, communications, training materials, and recommendations for transportation programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree.
• At least six years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related area.
• Extensive knowledge of purchased transportation concepts, industry trends, freight markets, carrier operations, and pricing methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with SQL, database technology, data visualization, and SAS.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Must live within 50 miles of the Pittsburgh campus and work onsite four days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience creating Excel macros.
• Knowledge of transportation management systems.
• Experience leading complex transportation RFPs, contract negotiations, and carrier pricing initiatives.
