Payroll Specialist Lead (AI)

What you will do

• Act as the subject matter expert for payroll operations in Japan.
• Process full end-to-end payroll, including statutory filings, exceptions, approvals, payments, and compliance.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders across Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering.
• Maintain data integrity and quality while handling accounting and reconciliations.
• Track KPIs and SLAs and implement process improvements using automation and AI capabilities.
• Mentor and support payroll specialists and provide backup for regional managers.

Requirements

• Experience in payroll management or an equivalent field.
• Knowledge of payroll best practices and statutory filing requirements.
• Proficiency with SAP, Excel, or Google Sheets.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong automation and AI capabilities with AI fluency.
