Sr. Associate, Payroll

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for Japan employees through outsourced payroll vendors.
• Review payroll calculations for new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, commissions, allowances, leave, and overtime.
• Coordinate with payroll vendors and Finance on tax withholding, resident tax, social insurance, labor insurance, and year-end tax adjustments.
• Maintain payroll documentation, audit trails, and records, and support internal and external audits.
• Provide payroll support for additional APAC countries as the role expands.

Requirements

• 8+ years of payroll administration experience handling Japan payroll for multinational companies.
• Strong knowledge of Japan payroll legislation, labor laws, tax regulations, social insurance, labor insurance, and year-end tax adjustments.
• Experience managing outsourced payroll vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent payroll experience is considered.
• Excellent-level Japanese and business-level English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage confidential information and multiple deadlines independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with Workday, SAP, or Jobcan payroll systems.
