TL;DR
Senior Settlement Analyst (MISO): Analyzing and reconciling MISO market settlement data, financial statements, regulatory schedules, and shadow settlement systems with an accent on reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and data analytics. Focus on designing control tests, investigating settlement anomalies, building Excel and Power BI analyses, and improving settlement processes.

Location: Hybrid role based in Merrillville, Indiana, United States

Salary: $82,200–$123,200 per year

What you will do

  • Analyze data from multiple sources to identify issues, trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare internal and external reports, regulatory schedules, pro-forma calculations, testimony, and data requests.
  • Reconcile the third-party shadow settlement system with financial statements and verify MISO cash settlement documentation.
  • Apply knowledge of MISO transmission and energy markets, charge types, settlement statements, NIPSCO resources, and load.
  • Design test scripts and perform internal-control testing for Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Document work accurately and improve processes across Energy Supply and Optimization, Accounting, and Rates.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in a business discipline.
  • 4–6 years of experience in finance, accounting, regulatory work, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Proficiency with MISO charge types, settlement statements, and third-party shadow settlement systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, statistical analysis, and data scrubbing; experience creating Power BI dashboards or using other data analytics tools.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

  • MBA.
  • Experience across multiple functional areas.
  • Experience writing prompts for Copilot.
