Operations Coordinator (Logistics)

What you will do

• Manage shipment intake and validate order details for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate ocean freight bookings, customer approvals, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare shipping documentation, manage cutoff requirements, and maintain shipment records.
• Update TMS and shipment milestones, especially around departure, while monitoring shipments in transit.
• Review shipment costing and charges, identify issues, and escalate risks affecting timelines or costs.
• Support process improvements and other operational activities as needed.

Requirements

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation operations.
• Required experience with ocean freight, which represents the majority of shipment volume.
• Experience coordinating shipments across multiple stages of the forwarding process.
• Familiarity with booking procedures, shipping documentation, cutoffs, and shipment tracking.
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, communication, and ability to manage multiple shipments independently.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with CargoWise, TMS, or other freight management systems.
• Wired Ethernet connection during work hours.
• Power backup such as a UPS in areas with frequent outages.
