Lending Chapter Lead Engineer II (Java)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a chapter of 5–10 software engineers.
• Drive performance management, career growth, hiring, and talent development.

• Provide technical direction and contribute to architecture and design decisions.
• Champion engineering excellence, DevOps practices, automation, and Agile ways of working.
• Balance people leadership with hands-on involvement in software delivery.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of people leadership experience in software engineering teams.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale technology delivery in Agile environments.
• Strong backend development experience with Java 11+ and Kotlin.
• Deep knowledge of Spring Framework, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architectures.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud-native environments, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, Git, automated testing, and secure software development.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field.

Nice to have

• Banking or financial services experience.
• Experience with SQL databases, JPA, Hibernate, containerization, and orchestration technologies.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Maven, reliability engineering, and operational excellence practices.
