AI & Intelligent Systems Enablement Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Sanford, North Carolina, United States. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $99,200–$165,400, plus a 12.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Design and develop AI-enabled solutions, including retrieval-augmented generation and generative AI use cases.
• Assess data availability and quality, close data gaps, and profile source-system data using SQL or equivalent tools.
• Identify and implement workflow digitization and continuous-improvement opportunities with site specialists.
• Advise site leadership on AI readiness, technology roadmaps, project intake, feasibility, and platform selection.
• Deliver digital and AI awareness sessions and training for colleagues.
• Apply governance, security, validation, responsible-AI, hallucination-mitigation, and bias-prevention requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field with at least 4 years of experience, or an equivalent education and experience pathway.
• Experience developing AI/ML solutions, engineering data, or delivering digital solutions.
• Hands-on experience with large language models, orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or OpenAI APIs, and agentic workflows.
• Experience with tool-augmented agents, function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, memory systems, planning and execution loops, vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval systems.
• Experience with prompt engineering, evaluation, guardrails, output validation, Power BI, Power Automate, and data-quality assessment.
• Familiarity with operational systems such as LIMS, SAP, EAMS, and quality management systems, plus the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environments, including GxP or CSV.
• Exposure to AI governance or responsible-AI frameworks.
• Experience training colleagues on digital tools.
• Awareness of production AI concerns such as latency, cost efficiency, and observability.
