Senior Support Engineer (GovOps)

Location: On-site in McLean, Virginia, at a secure SCIF facility

Salary: $130,200–$178,950 USD annually, with potential annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Act as the technical authority for complex platform escalations across Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM, and operating-system domains.
• Support GovCloud, FedRAMP High, and air-gapped environments, including secure data enclaves and federal AI workloads.
• Partner with Core Engineering to triage defects, perform root-cause analysis, and drive permanent software fixes.
• Build and adapt Python, Bash, and Go automation and diagnostic tools for restricted environments.
• Lead technical triage and live incident response for high-consequence platform events.
• Diagnose deployment failures, review Infrastructure-as-Code configurations, and maintain compliance with FedRAMP High, ITAR/IL5, and federal security standards.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Senior Support Engineering, DevSecOps, or related technical operations.
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix internals, networking, process and resource debugging, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on proficiency in Python, Bash, Go, or Java, including source-code reading, software debugging, and diagnostic scripting.
• Experience with public or federal cloud infrastructure, Terraform or CloudFormation, Docker/Kubernetes, technical communications, and on-call incident response. On-site work at the McLean SCIF is required.

Nice to have

• Active Counterintelligence or Full Scope Polygraph clearance.
• Experience with AWS World Wide Public Sector, isolated defense integration networks, FedRAMP High, or ITAR environments.
• Experience operating in low-egress or fully air-gapped networks.
