Software Engineer III, Cloud Foundations (Azure)

Base salary: USD $107,700.00–$285,900.00 per year.

What you will do

• Design and implement reliable, performant, and secure systems for VM runtime, provisioning, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Build automation that makes provisioning, configuration changes, and fleet maintenance safer and more predictable.
• Maintain Azure and data-center platform services, including VM lifecycle workflows, OS and container image pipelines, host inventory, and Terraform tooling.
• Write, review, and test maintainable code with strong observability, security, and failure-recovery practices.
• Collaborate with engineering and security partners on platform integration, troubleshooting, modernization, and compliance.
• Participate in on-call rotation, respond to incidents, and create documentation, runbooks, and design proposals.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline, with proven production coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python; equivalent degree-and-experience pathways are accepted, including an associate degree plus 3+ years, a bachelor's degree plus 2+ years, a relevant master's degree, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience building and supporting large, high-traffic applications at scale in platform or infrastructure domains.
• At least 2 years of experience building and supporting cloud-native workloads in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

Nice to have

• 4+ years of experience with Azure or another cloud provider.
• Experience building or maintaining planetary-scale engineering systems.
• Experience working with a remote, distributed team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Expertise with cloud environments and Cloud Native Computing Foundation concepts.
