Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager (Retail Fit-Out)

Location: Persiaran Lagoon, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia; regular travel for project site visits may be required.

Sports Direct Malaysia operates retail stores and an e-commerce site, offering global sports brands through a growing retail network in Asia.

What you will do

• Lead retail store fit-out, refurbishment, and renovation projects from planning through handover.
• Develop design concepts, layouts, space plans, drawings, 3D renderings, presentations, and project documentation.
• Coordinate landlords, consultants, contractors, suppliers, authorities, and internal teams to secure approvals and deliver projects.
• Manage schedules, budgets, resources, risks, quality standards, site inspections, and project reporting.
• Review contractor quotations, negotiate costs, and support procurement activities.
• Maintain project records and post-project evaluations while implementing process improvements.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, project management, construction management, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in retail project management, retail fit-out, renovation, or construction projects.
• Experience with retail chains, shopping mall developments, commercial fit-out, or construction and interior fit-out companies.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, construction processes, procurement procedures, stakeholder management, and vendor coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max or equivalent visualization software, and Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project experience is advantageous.
• Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, multitasking, and independent-working skills.
