Developer Experience Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. U.S. Person status is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance for an Army Program of Record. The role involves ITAR/EAR-controlled technology and requires proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residence; sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure and self-service internal developer platforms.
• Create and improve Jenkins and GitLab pipelines covering build, test, deployment, observability, and reporting.
• Design and maintain Docker environments for development, testing, and production pipelines.
• Monitor infrastructure and pipeline health, troubleshoot issues, and reduce developer workflow friction.
• Standardize developer tooling, improve documentation and onboarding, and maintain a prioritized improvement backlog.
• Embed secrets management, vulnerability scanning, secure build practices, and least-privilege access into delivery pipelines.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on AWS experience with compute, storage, networking, and IAM services supporting production or global infrastructure.
• At least 3 years of DevOps experience, including CI/CD design, infrastructure as code, and build and release automation.
• Production experience with Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, scripting or automation using Python, Bash, or similar tools, and Linux environments.
• At least 2 years of applying security practices to infrastructure or software pipelines.
• Experience across the software delivery lifecycle: build, test, deploy, observe, and report.
• Strong English communication skills and U.S. Person status are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Yocto, BitBake, or other embedded Linux build systems.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, or other observability and monitoring stacks.
• Experience with CMMC Level 2, DoD, or federal compliance frameworks.
• Experience with embedded, robotics, or drone software platforms.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification.
