Sr. DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Onsite at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, 5 days per week; occasional travel required

Salary: $137,510–$200,000 per year; $20,000 sign-on bonus for employees

What you will do

• Support development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS.
• Develop and maintain on-premise and portable edge infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes and manage Kubernetes containers and AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems while improving reliability, scalability, availability, and performance.
• Evaluate new technologies and tools for infrastructure improvement.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a current TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance.
• Must work onsite at the customer location in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, 5 days per week.
• 9+ years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience with a related bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent experience and education combination.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda, and configuration management with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with application, container, and operating system deployment, scaling, and management; proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Ability to program in Python, Bash, or Go; familiarity with Git, Flux, terminal-based environments, Agile methodologies, and DoD 8140/8570 compliance certifications.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Experience with K9s, AWS CLI, SNS, SQS, or Diode.
