Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure)

Location: Hybrid role based in Sydney or Melbourne, Australia

What you will do

• Design, automate, and maintain enterprise-scale Azure and GCP infrastructure.
• Co-develop cloud infrastructure patterns and translate them into reusable Terraform modules and blueprints.
• Modernise legacy systems into code-driven cloud patterns and automate Azure Landing Zone foundations aligned with the Cloud Adoption Framework.
• Build and maintain deployment pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Shell scripting.
• Design secure cloud networking topologies covering WAF, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Apply FinOps, Zero Trust, policy-as-code, monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer.
• Strong Windows and Linux administration skills.
• Tertiary qualification in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Expert Infrastructure as Code skills with Terraform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
• Experience designing, deploying, and managing Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments, including compute, networking, firewalls, App Services, Logic Apps, storage, and databases.
• Strong knowledge of complex cloud networking, cost optimisation, and high-criticality production incident resolution.

Nice to have

• Hands-on exposure to GCP services including NCC, PSC, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, VPC, and IAM.
• Azure or GCP technical certifications.
