Instructional System Designer (ISD) Lead

Location: Altus, Oklahoma, at the C-17 Training System Support Center at Altus AFB. The role is performed in a professional office environment and may require confined-space work, travel, and overtime. Only U.S. citizens are eligible due to U.S. Government contract requirements.

What you will do

• Lead the C-17 Training System Instructional Systems Team and manage ISD department activities.
• Manage the analysis, design, development, and evaluation of courseware, curricula, scenarios, case studies, instructional methods, and assessment tools.
• Maintain traceability and integrity of baseline and updated ISD documentation in accordance with the Quality Management System.
• Plan staffing, skills inventories, department training, ISD tools, licenses, and task assignments against program milestones.
• Consult with customers on performance management and instructional strategies and support internal and customer meetings.
• Manage deliverable budgets, schedules, scope milestones, and continual improvement of learning tools and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Systems Design, or a related field, plus 7 years of ISD management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience using systematic approaches to curriculum development.
• Required experience with USAF Mobility Training System ISD; C-17 Training System ISD experience is highly desired.
• Experience leading teams in dynamic work environments and measuring training system effectiveness through data analytics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel macros and formulas, plus strong organizational and business skills.
• U.S. citizenship is required. Ability to learn complex high-tech systems, prioritize work with minimal supervision, and remain customer-focused.
