Senior Risk Analyst (Data Risk)

Location: Hybrid, with work locations in Vienna, Virginia; Pensacola, Florida; or Winchester, Virginia, United States. Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.

Salary: $96,900-$141,600 annually.

What you will do

• Lead HR data risk assessments, reviews, and governance activities across processes, applications, reporting, analytics, vendors, and technology.
• Evaluate control objectives, evidence, ownership, dependencies, issues, exceptions, remediation, and emerging risks.
• Lead assigned HR Data Risk projects and workstreams from ambiguous assignments through defined outcomes, milestones, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with HR, Technology, Risk, and enterprise partners; facilitate working sessions and drive follow-up actions.
• Prepare executive presentations, dashboards, scorecards, portfolio reports, recommendations, and decision materials.
• Build reusable templates, trackers, playbooks, and tools to standardize or automate reporting and evidence collection.

Requirements

• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in risk management, operational or technology risk, information security risk, data governance, compliance, audit, controls, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience with risk identification, control objectives, evidence, issues, remediation, exceptions, escalation, and materiality assessment.
• Experience independently leading complex projects, assessments, workstreams, or cross-functional initiatives through defined outcomes.
• Advanced PowerPoint skills and strong Excel skills, including dashboards, scorecards, or management reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, judgment, and ability to handle sensitive information.

Nice to have

• Experience with HR risk, employee data, privacy, employment law, financial services, or another highly regulated industry.
• First Line of Defense risk management, RCSA, issue management, control assessments, or risk transformation experience.
• Data governance, data quality, records management, identity and access management, data sharing, or vendor risk experience.
• Cloud, analytics, AI governance, Power BI, Azure DevOps, Jira, SharePoint, or Microsoft Copilot experience.
