Sr. Scientist, Delivery Sciences (LNP)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; site-based and full-time onsite. Remote work is not eligible.

Salary: $130,800–$209,400 annually, plus potential bonus, incentive compensation, or equity award.

What you will do

• Lead research programs for targeted, extra-hepatic lipid nanoparticle delivery from hypothesis generation through in-vitro and in-vivo evaluation.
• Develop and optimize LNP self-assembly processes, including composition, payload loading, and surface modifications for tissue and cell-type specificity.
• Use high-throughput formulation, laboratory automation, and AI/ML-enabled data analysis to accelerate formulation discovery and support data-driven decisions.
• Design experiments, analyze and communicate data, and maintain electronic laboratory notebooks, SOPs, and study documentation.
• Implement physicochemical and biophysical characterization methods such as DLS, CryoEM, SAXS, ITC, NMR, and nFCM to establish structure–function relationships.
• Mentor research associates and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to resolve technical challenges and deliver project milestones.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years of experience.
• Deep expertise in lipid nanoparticle design, formulation, and physicochemical characterization; experience with targeted or extra-hepatic delivery platforms is preferred.
• Experience with high-throughput formulation workflows, laboratory automation, and computational or AI/ML-enabled data analysis.
• Leadership experience mentoring scientists or research associates and driving cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with analytical techniques for nanoparticle size, morphology, composition, and stability assessment.
• Must work full-time at hirify.global’s Cambridge site; the position is not eligible for remote work.
