Investment Associate, L&G - Asset Management, America (Private Credit)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA

Salary: USD 100,000–130,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

Asset management business investing across public and private markets for individual savers, pension scheme members, global institutions, and its own balance sheet.

What you will do

• Evaluate, structure, execute, and monitor investment-grade private credit investments across corporate, infrastructure, and alternative sectors.
• Perform fundamental credit analysis, relative value assessments, downside risk evaluations, and financial analysis.
• Develop investment recommendations, investment committee materials, and transaction structures with investment and credit colleagues in Chicago and London.
• Support diligence, legal documentation review and negotiation, rating agency considerations, and portfolio construction.
• Build relationships with borrowers, arrangers, advisors, and other market participants to source opportunities and improve market intelligence.
• Monitor portfolio investments, manage amendments and credit events, and contribute to investment strategy and client engagement.

Requirements

• Ability to evaluate companies and industries by synthesizing financial statements, management materials, and third-party research.
• Strong financial analysis skills, including financial statement interpretation and building accurate financial models.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clear and concise investment recommendations.
• Resourceful, self-motivated, disciplined, and able to develop independent investment views.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in finance, accounting, or economics.

Nice to have

• Direct experience in credit investing or completion of a formal credit training program.
• Interest in or progress toward the CFA qualification.
