Investment Banking Associate (M&A)

Location: Onsite; candidates must reside in or near Metro Detroit, Chicagoland, or Denver, or be willing to relocate to one of these areas. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Salary: $135,000–$155,000 annually for roles located in Illinois, Massachusetts, or Colorado.

What you will do

• Oversee analyst work, including financial modeling, research methodology, and deal wrap-up activities.
• Develop analytical and data-driven components for M&A transactions.
• Research industries and companies for buyer lists, industry overviews, market trends, and practice development.
• Build and manipulate financial models and valuations for financing, transaction structure, and cash-flow feasibility.
• Prepare selling documents and support information requests, due diligence lists, confidentiality agreements, engagement letters, proposals, and management presentations.
• Communicate with potential buyers, financial institutions, attorneys, referral sources, and clients while participating in strategic transaction discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; an MBS is preferred but not required.
• At least 3 years of experience in investment banking or a related transactional field.
• Residence near Metro Detroit, Chicagoland, or Denver, or willingness to relocate to one of these areas.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.
• Strong problem-solving, data-analysis, quality, and accuracy skills.
