Specialist, Technical Support Engineering / Transmission Control (TC)

Location: Fort Meade, Maryland; full-time on-site

What you will do

• Provide SATCOM transmission control, operations support, technical analysis, and assistance to operations personnel.
• Analyze SATCOM accesses, link performance, DSCS and WGS network configurations, and satellite and network anomalies.
• Support operating systems, application software, database applications, network protocols, and WSOMS computer networks.
• Coordinate software upgrades and releases, verify patches and fixes, and recommend or implement engineering design changes.
• Maintain firewall rule sets, intrusion detection systems, audit and security logs, and cybersecurity configurations based on DISA STIGs and IAVM Notices.
• Provide customer training, troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, and administration support for SIPRNet and NIPRNet systems during 24/7/365 operations.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
• U.S. citizenship is required because security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and 2 years of related experience; 8 years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
• At least 3 years of WSOC experience and 3 years of military SATCOM experience, including satellite transmission control and link-performance analysis.
• At least 3 years of experience with computer-based satellite network control systems, IT tools, complex network troubleshooting, Windows, Active Directory, and WSOMS network administration.
• Ability to work the Monday–Friday 5/8 schedule and support mission systems requiring 24/7/365 coverage.

Nice to have

• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification, such as Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, or CND.
• Experience planning, implementing, verifying, and troubleshooting local and wide-area enterprise networks.
• Experience with Cisco IOS, IP routing, EIGRP, patching, scanning, remediation, auditing, RMF, and cybersecurity requirements.
