Software Developer (Infotainment Audio)

Location: Hybrid in Markham, Ontario, Canada; attendance at the Markham Elevation Center at least three times per week is required.

Salary: CAD 115,000–164,600 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and release audio middleware modules for Android, QNX, and Linux using C++ and Java.
• Develop Android framework components and Linux middleware for custom infotainment implementations.
• Maintain and improve large existing code bases while creating new software for audio functionality.
• Analyze requirements, design test cases, prototype features, and refine implementations with a focus on quality and performance.
• Lead technical solutions covering requirements, functional decomposition, design analysis, development, testing, and anomaly correction.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams using Scrum and Agile practices and occasionally travel domestically and internationally.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on C++ software development experience with strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
• Experience with Android/AOSP components, frameworks, architecture, Linux, embedded systems, and firmware testing.
• Experience with multithreaded environments, IPC communication, and commercial development in C++, Java, and C.
• Familiarity with Android development toolkits, test frameworks, Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and software configuration management.
• Ability to perform complex diagnostics and investigations, communicate clearly, and work effectively in geographically dispersed teams.
• Must be able to work in the hybrid Markham arrangement and attend the office at least three times per week.
