NPI Engineering Co-Op

Location: Rockrimmon, Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States; onsite work in an office and manufacturing environment. Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from January through June 2027.

Salary: $20–$30 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Create, maintain, and release manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and qualification reports.
• Track molded components through tooling, sampling, dimensional measurement, and qualification activities.
• Collect, organize, and analyze engineering and manufacturing data for process characterization and capability assessments.
• Support PFMEA improvement initiatives by reducing failure-mode occurrence, improving detection methods, and maintaining risk documentation.
• Coordinate customer sample builds, including material tracking, readiness checks, documentation, and post-build data collection.
• Work with operators and assemblers, follow up on project actions and risks, and support continuous improvement and audit preparation.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled student graduating in Spring 2027 or later.
• Available to work 40 hours per week from January through June and familiar with university co-op participation requirements.
• Exposure to engineering, manufacturing, continuous improvement, or project management through internships, co-op programs, academic projects, or related work.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and communicate technical data, work cross-functionally, and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to work safely in an office and manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, visual inspections, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Major or academic background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering Technology, Quality Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.
