Program Engineering Manager – Software & Electronics Platform (EV)

Location: Hybrid, with attendance at the Warren Technical Center in Warren, Michigan or Milford Proving Grounds in Milford, Michigan at least three times per week. Travel is expected to be less than 25%. The role may be eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Lead integrated execution of EV Software & Electronics Platform content from requirements and architecture through vehicle integration, validation, launch readiness, and post-launch activities.
• Coordinate software and hardware deliverables across platform features, ECUs, vehicle networks, interfaces, diagnostics, calibration, releases, test assets, and vehicle integration.
• Manage cross-platform dependencies, risks, issues, recovery plans, milestone readiness, and executive-level decisions.
• Drive platform readiness for software quality reviews, program quality reviews, vehicle integration, release completeness, and launch decisions.
• Partner with vehicle program teams, engineering organizations, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and product and platform PMO groups.
• Lead, coach, and develop APEMs while establishing operating rhythms, standard work, accountability, and execution-health reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering or vehicle-program execution from planning through delivery.
• Experience integrating software and electronics across vehicle systems, embedded platforms, ECUs, networks, controls, or related products.
• Experience managing technical dependencies, milestone readiness, risks, recovery plans, escalations, and executive decisions.
• Ability to lead through influence across multiple organizations and develop high-performing engineering or program-management teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex technical topics clear and actionable.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering or vehicle-program execution.
• Experience with electric-vehicle platforms, charging and energy, propulsion, vehicle motion, low-voltage systems, or other EV-critical domains.
• Experience with software-defined vehicle architectures, centralized or high-performance compute platforms, vehicle networks, OTA delivery, diagnostics, or vehicle-level integration.
• Experience improving execution systems, metrics, operating rhythms, or organizational clarity in complex technical environments.
