Robotics Engineering Intern (Robotics)

Location: On-site in Carson, California, United States. The internship runs approximately October 2026 through March 2027, with a start date no later than October 1, 2026.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and test systems for robotic grinding applications.
• Support robotic solutions in partnership with Senior Application Engineers.
• Conduct rigorous system testing and participate in hands-on troubleshooting.
• Assist with proof-of-concept projects for new customers.
• Collaborate with Government Projects and cross-functional teams to improve robotic surface-treatment applications.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor's degree or higher in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with iterative design and prototyping of cyber-physical or mechatronic systems.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes and industries.
• Ability to read and interpret C++ and Python, and experience with Visual Studio Code.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple teams and adapt to changing priorities.
• Must qualify under U.S. export-control requirements and maintain U.S. work authorization throughout employment.

Nice to have

• Experience in autonomous manufacturing, industrial robots, auxiliary systems, or manufacturing processes.
• Experience creating standard operating procedures and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD, Linux, ROS, dynamics, controls, motion planning, machine learning, robotics, computer vision, artificial intelligence, or computational geometry.
