Senior Project Engineer (Space Networking)

Location: Remote within the United States, excluding North Dakota, Vermont, and Rhode Island. Specific salary locations include Carlsbad, San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area. Travel up to 25%.

Salary: $141,500–$224,000 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $176,000–$264,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead technical execution of an advanced space network and enterprise program from early development through deployment.
• Translate mission needs and high-level requirements into engineering plans across networking, enterprise systems, operations, software, and integration teams.
• Coordinate system-level design, interface definition, integration, and verification activities across multiple engineering domains.
• Manage technical scope, schedules, risks, technical baselines, and integration readiness.
• Guide system bring-up, troubleshoot network and software integration issues, and maintain requirements traceability.
• Prepare proposals, milestone materials, technical briefs, design reviews, and engineering documentation for internal and government stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, or systems engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in system-level engineering, integration, or technical project leadership for complex communications, enterprise, or networking systems.
• Strong knowledge of requirements flow-down, trade studies, verification and validation, and system architecture.
• Ability to coordinate diverse engineering disciplines and lead technical discussions.
• US citizenship required.
• Must be able to obtain a United States Secret Clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating advanced networks, software systems, interfaces, and security architectures.
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools and system-level workflows.
• Experience coordinating geographically distributed, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Exposure to secure communications networks, data platforms, and satellite or space system architectures.
