Senior AI and Data Scientist (AI)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; Southlake, TX; or Ann Arbor, MI

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 per year, plus bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Analyze big data and develop AI solutions that support advanced business decision-making.
• Design and build end-to-end machine learning systems covering data ingestion, feature generation, model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and value measurement.
• Translate business objectives into production-ready data science and AI solutions across multiple lines of business.
• Establish engineering standards for data science, including modular code, testing, version control, and production readiness.
• Lead complex initiatives involving advanced machine learning, recommender systems, real-time inference, and low-latency systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data science and machine learning.
• Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline such as computer engineering, statistics, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Python and SQL for production-grade, modular, optimized code.
• Experience delivering supervised and unsupervised machine learning models with documented evaluation, performance tracking, and value measurement.
• Production experience with natural language processing and LLM solutions such as retrieval-augmented generation, agent workflows, or fine-tuning.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including version control, CI/CD, MLOps, and multiple production deployments.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Background in statistics, forecasting, or causal inference.
• Experience with cloud machine learning architecture, data pipelines, recommender systems, or personalization systems.
• Mentorship experience and strong communication skills.
