Nurse Educator (Home Care)

Location: On-site in Queens, NY, with regular travel to NYC locations and occasional field visits across Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn.

Salary: $90,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Deliver 40-hour Personal Care Aide training courses, including classroom instruction, skills demonstrations, testing, and competency evaluation.
• Prepare training materials, equipment, rosters, examinations, skills checklists, attendance records, and completion documentation.
• Provide remediation, retraining, caregiver education, and competency refreshers while documenting follow-up actions.
• Orient new field nurses and provide clinical refreshers and competency support for existing nursing staff.
• Perform field-based nursing activities, including patient home visits, RN assessments, caregiver supervisory visits, competency assessments, clinical follow-up, and patient education.
• Support audit readiness, quality improvement, compliance tracking, and escalation of certification or patient-care risks.

Requirements

• Current and unrestricted New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• At least one year of experience in home care services, such as LHCSA, CHHA, or hospice.
• Knowledge of PCA training requirements, adult-learning principles, caregiver scope of practice, infection control, patient rights, and clinical documentation.
• Strong clinical judgment, presentation, facilitation, communication, organization, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work on-site and travel locally for education-site, office, and field-based responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with home care education or nursing supervision.
• Experience delivering healthcare training, caregiver education, competency evaluations, clinical onboarding, or adult education.
