Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Go)

Location: Fully remote, associated with Denton, Texas and the United States

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for planning and curriculum workflows.
• Build and evolve APIs, integration contracts, data models, database migrations, and Go services.
• Lead technical initiatives from discovery through delivery, including solution design, validation, and release.
• Diagnose production issues, performance bottlenecks, and complex cross-system behavior.
• Own release quality through testing, deployment readiness, and post-release follow-through.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and engineering teams while mentoring engineers and contributing to architecture and engineering standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building and maintaining production software systems.
• Strong backend engineering experience with Go and PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, query optimization, and production data considerations.
• Experience designing APIs, service boundaries, integration contracts, distributed systems, caching, event-driven integrations, or asynchronous processing.
• Experience with production troubleshooting, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, testing, and debugging.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives, make architectural decisions, communicate tradeoffs, and collaborate across engineering, product, design, and quality teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with workflow-driven SaaS products or modernizing legacy systems.
