Software Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in Bandar Sunway, Malaysia, or Shenzhen, Wuhan, or Hangzhou, China. Remote collaboration is also mentioned, with opportunities to work from the Malaysia office.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable software components using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Build and optimize high-performance frontend interfaces focused on smooth user experiences.
• Architect backend systems for scalability, reliability, and security.
• Integrate AI-powered features into production environments with attention to performance and usability.
• Collaborate with design and product teams to turn user needs into technical deliverables.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, CI/CD workflows, and technical issue resolution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software industry experience.
• 4+ years of production experience with TypeScript and React or Node.js.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Backend focus: advanced database design, CAP Theorem, and distributed systems knowledge; or frontend focus: excellence in refined, performant, user-focused interfaces.
• Understanding of product development lifecycles, design thinking, and agile methodologies.
• Excellent written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, AWS Lambda, or the Serverless Framework.
• Familiarity with WebGL, WebAssembly, or Canvas API.
• Exposure to large language models or generative AI technologies.
