Manager Entertainment Technical

Location: Universal City, California, United States; on-site work supporting live shows, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and operational readiness

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 per year, bonus eligible

What you will do

• Lead the planning, development, and execution of entertainment projects, live shows, special events, atmosphere offerings, and seasonal activations.
• Manage technical delivery from concept and design development through fabrication, installation, commissioning, operational turnover, and lifecycle support.
• Coordinate architecture and engineering integration, show systems, scenic and electrical systems, audio/video technologies, and project documentation.
• Lead technical reviews, permitting, inspections, approvals, compliance activities, and coordination with Building & Safety, Fire Department, and other regulatory agencies.
• Manage vendors, fabricators, consultants, contractors, and specialty service providers, including field oversight at production and installation sites.
• Transfer project documentation, training materials, maintenance requirements, and operational resources to operations and maintenance teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Production, Entertainment Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in special events, theatrical production, themed entertainment, live shows, or related technical production environments.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience managing projects, technical teams, or production activities.
• Experience delivering complex entertainment projects involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, and operational partners.
• Strong technical knowledge of entertainment, scenic, electrical, show, and audio/video systems, plus experience interpreting construction documents, engineering packages, specifications, and fabrication drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software, with strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with permitting processes, jurisdictional requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience working in union environments.
