Salary: $236,000–$339,250 per year

What you will do

• Define architecture for the Postgres dataplane and orchestration/control plane.
• Lead development of high availability, upgrades, backups, scaling, automation, and operational safety.
• Build product roadmaps, identify problems, and deliver scalable solutions.
• Balance consistency, performance, scaling limits, cost, and immediate business needs.
• Ensure durability, availability, performance, security, and operational readiness for customer-facing services.
• Drive alignment across teams, customers, and partners while solving large-scale business and technical problems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems, databases, or cloud services.
• 3+ years of experience building, managing, and leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong track record delivering resilient production systems and services.
• Significant experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP and highly available services.
• Strong hands-on technical ability in system design, implementation, and complex codebases.
• Postgres experience as an end user, operator, or administrator, with a strong understanding of database fundamentals and trade-offs.
