Member Advocate I (Healthcare)

Location: Remote, but must live in Illinois. Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Pay: $19.43–$32.98 per hour

What you will do

• Advocate for members and coordinate communication between the health plan and healthcare providers.
• Receive and respond to member complaints and formal grievances.
• Identify and resolve access barriers, cultural sensitivity issues, and other systemic obstacles to appropriate care.
• Participate in local community organizations and update member education materials.
• Serve as a primary contact for member advocacy groups, human services agencies, and state entities.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of customer service experience in a healthcare environment.
• Must live in Illinois.
• Must have U.S. work authorization without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to handle member complaints, grievances, and healthcare access issues.

Nice to have

• Medicare and/or Medicaid experience.
