Automotive Lead Technician

Location: Onsite at 005363 Savannah Hwy, United States

Salary: $22.90–$40.92 per hour; flat-rate, performance-based compensation.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and recommended repairs to customers without a mechanical background.
• Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Complete paid formal training to stay current with automotive technology.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certification in at least five A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid automobile driver’s license and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing brakes, alignment, steering, suspension, general automotive systems, and tires.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Must complete Form I-9 employment eligibility verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify employment.

Nice to have

• Five years of automotive repair experience, demonstrated skills through third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• ASE certification in at least three A1–A8 areas, with brakes and steering and suspension preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, engine repair and performance, transmissions, drivetrains, and automotive heating and air conditioning.
