System Engineer 3

Location: On-site in Columbia, Maryland, United States. United States citizenship and an agency-appropriate security clearance, such as active TS/SCI with an agency-appropriate polygraph, are required.

Salary: $55.72–$137.86 per hour

What you will do

• Apply systems engineering principles across the full lifecycle, from concept and development through deployment, operation, maintenance, and retirement.
• Prepare and deliver work products across ISO/IEC 15288 technical, project, enterprise, and agreement process areas.
• Analyze technical alternatives and recommend options for project design and implementation.
• Interact with government stakeholders, program personnel, technical users, customer representatives, and senior executives.
• Support hardware and software integration, system deployment, installation, testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting.
• Perform quality assurance activities to support system build quality, reliability, maintainability, and safety.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an agency-appropriate TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a qualified engineering field or related discipline plus six years of systems engineering experience; equivalent options include a high school diploma or GED plus ten years, a master’s degree plus four years, or a PhD plus two years.
• Experience with systems engineering activities and work products associated with ISO/IEC 15288 process areas.
• Experience with system hardware/software integration, deployments, networking, telecommunications equipment, and related troubleshooting.
• Experience with fiber-optic and CAT-5/6 cabling, including termination and testing with meters and OTDR equipment.
• Experience supporting Dell servers and replacing or repairing server components.
