Health Benefit Representative (Healthcare)

Location: Latham, New York; 100% community field-based travel supporting Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady County. A driver's license is mandatory for non-NYC counties. The schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.

What you will do

• Educate and assist consumers with enrollment through the NY State of Health Marketplace, including Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, Qualified Health Plans, and Health & Recovery Plan coverage.
• Explain eligibility, premium tax credits, cost-sharing reductions, metal tiers, deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance.
• Support existing members with renewals, recertifications, premium payments, document submission, and benefit education.
• Conduct community education activities, presentations, ACA forums, workshops, and community events.
• Track leads and applications, complete follow-ups, and accurately record enrollment and consumer data in the required CRM.
• Protect confidential information and comply with ACA, regulatory, privacy, security, conflict-of-interest, and organizational standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to manage application and CRM data accurately.
• Two or more years of experience in managed care, sales, customer service, healthcare, enrollment counseling, health navigation, community outreach, or a related area is preferred.
• Ability to travel throughout Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady County and hold a driver's license for non-NYC county work.
• Must complete and pass the NY State of Health-approved training program and all required annual recertification courses.
• Ability to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate assistance and communicate effectively with consumers.

Nice to have

• Bilingual English and Spanish skills.
• Salesforce experience.
• Experience with customer-facing or field sales and public speaking.
