Data Product Owner (Fintech)

Location: Owings Mills, Maryland, United States; hybrid schedule with up to one day per week from home. Applicants must already have US work authorization that does not require current or future visa sponsorship.

Base salary: $96,500–$164,000 annually for Maryland, Colorado, Washington, and remote workers. Employees may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Own assigned retail client data domains and act as the primary partner for business, technology, analytics, operations, and risk stakeholders.
• Translate business and consumer needs into prioritized product requirements, capabilities, and actionable solutions.
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog while balancing business value, data quality, risk, dependencies, and delivery capacity.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, analytics, and business teams through discovery, delivery, validation, and adoption.
• Define acceptance criteria, lead business validation and UAT, and monitor adoption, reliability, data quality, and business-value measures.
• Identify data quality issues and dependencies, drive remediation, and provide guidance to less experienced associates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, plus 5 or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Agile environments, cross-functional collaboration, and influencing outcomes across matrixed teams.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, metadata management, data lineage, and master data management.
• Knowledge of relational database models and SQL for data extraction, profiling, validation, and analysis.
• Experience with complex datasets, end-to-end data flows, data controls, testing, validation, defect management, and reconciliation.
• Strong communication, prioritization, analytical, planning, and mentoring skills; experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Jira, Confluence, and Teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of retail and retirement investment products, including brokerage accounts, IRAs, ETFs, 401(k), 403(b), defined contribution, and defined benefit plans.
• Experience defining and reporting data quality metrics, governance KPIs, and remediation activities.
