Lead Data Governance Architect (Fintech)

Location: Arlington, VA; remote candidates may be considered only if residing in a state where hirify.global or one of its subsidiaries has an established physical presence.

Salary: $117,800–$189,000 annually, plus eligibility for up to 10% annual incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Architect and operationalize the enterprise data governance framework, including standards, decision rights, escalation paths, reporting, and audit-ready evidence.
• Design federated stewardship practices for Business Data Owners, Business Data Stewards, and Technical Data Custodians.
• Own the enterprise business glossary in Atlan and establish processes for metadata, critical data elements, lineage, certification, and documentation.
• Build data quality, issue-management, remediation, classification, retention, archival, and disposal governance practices.
• Define governance standards for Snowflake, dbt, BI, semantic models, dashboards, reports, and other analytical assets.
• Support model and AI governance, including inventory, ownership, data-use review, lineage, monitoring, and lifecycle controls.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, or related data disciplines.
• Experience building or significantly maturing enterprise data governance capabilities, operating models, stewardship programs, policies, standards, and workflows.
• Expertise in business glossaries, metadata management, data catalogs, lineage, data quality, classification, retention, lifecycle management, and certification.
• Experience with Atlan is preferred; familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Tableau, Power BI, and Sigma is required.
• Ability to translate governance policies into practical processes and operate as a hands-on Player Architect.
• Remote applicants must reside in a state where hirify.global or one of its subsidiaries has an established physical presence.

Nice to have

• Experience in a regulated, risk-sensitive, audit-focused, or financial-services environment.
• Familiarity with DAMA DMBOK2 or similar frameworks.
• CDMP certification.
