Civil Engineer, Intermediate (Civil 3D)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska, United States; four days in the office with flexibility to work outside the office on Fridays

What you will do

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and other disciplines throughout the integrated design process.
• Design and coordinate site development documents using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Develop site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, storm sewer and stormwater management designs, paving, and site utilities.
• Perform complex civil calculations, code research, engineering reports, narratives, and permitting applications.
• Write and review specifications, shop drawings, and construction-related correspondence.
• Conduct site visits and manage deliverables across multiple projects and schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE).
• At least 5 years of civil engineering experience focused on building-related site development.
• Previous experience in an architecture/engineering or civil engineering design firm.
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D and working knowledge of Hydraflow, Storm and Sanitary Sewer Analysis, and InfraWorks.
• Strong understanding of stormwater management, hydrologic design, problem-solving, communication, and project prioritization.

Nice to have

• Experience with sustainable site design and low-impact strategies.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS software.
• Knowledge of SketchUp or other site-plan rendering software.
