Engineer II (Civil Engineering)

hirify.global is an engineering firm establishing a new Knoxville office focused on land development and regional client relationships.

What you will do

• Support civil site development design for commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects, including grading, drainage, paving, and utility systems.
• Perform site layout, earthwork calculations, and stormwater management analyses.
• Prepare reports, exhibits, technical documentation, engineering calculations, and design deliverables.
• Support zoning, entitlement, permitting, and compliance activities with regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, clients, public agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage assigned tasks, communicate technical information, and meet project schedules and quality expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least 1 year of relevant engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency with engineering software, drafting and design tools, and standard office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in Knoxville, TN, Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with overtime as needed.

Nice to have

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) certification.
