Senior Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Burnet, Texas facility; position associated with Austin, Texas

Salary: $85,500–$122,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead continuous improvement projects using change control processes and statistical data analysis.
• Apply statistical process control to identify improvement opportunities and maintain effective control limits.
• Analyze manufacturing performance, capacity utilization, quality metrics, and process effectiveness to support operational decisions.
• Perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions for non-conformances.
• Maintain work instructions, FMEAs, control plans, and ERP master data including BOMs, routings, and material information.
• Identify capacity bottlenecks, develop capital-investment justifications, support equipment troubleshooting, and mentor personnel in structured problem solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, process-equipment troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of statistical process control and statistical data analysis for qualification and validation.
• Experience leading structured problem solving with 8D, FMEA, 5 Why, root-cause analysis, or fishbone methods.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and present technical data to all organizational levels.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally in support of engineering projects and escalations, less than 5%.

Nice to have

• Experience with stainless-steel hazardous-material vessel design, valving, and orbital welding.
• Experience with Minitab.
