Principal DevSecOps Software Engineer (DevSecOps)

Location: Simi Valley, California; office-based role. U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident required under ITAR.

Salary: $147,000–$224,250 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize secure cloud-based software solutions, including REST endpoints, relational database schemas, and user interface components.
• Build and improve development automation, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software security checks.
• Support software testing, security validation, system demonstrations, integration, deployment, and configuration troubleshooting.
• Create software designs, technical documentation, reports, and customer-facing presentation inputs.
• Collaborate with software, systems engineering, cybersecurity, and infrastructure personnel using Scrum practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers while delivering work against project schedules and budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in software engineering, automation, cloud architecture, DevSecOps, or a related field.
• Proficiency in one or more of C/C++, Java, Golang, and Python, with knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and development workflows.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and Linux systems including Ubuntu or CentOS.
• Familiarity with Git or SVN, IDEs, debuggers, unit testing, debugging, software design, and cloud architecture.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident; able to obtain at least a Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with software build automation, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, automated testing, and security integration.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
