Wavelogic Modem HW Engineering Intern/Co-op (Winter 2027 - 4 month)

What you will do

• Perform simulations, functional schematic reviews, physical PCB layout reviews, BOM generation, and technical documentation.
• Debug hardware and verify electrical designs against datasheet specifications.
• Document hardware validation results and support laboratory testing.
• Review component specifications and research alternative sources for qualification activities.
• Analyze large-scale manufacturing yield data to identify engineering improvements.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics, or an equivalent program.
• Foundational knowledge of multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and basic soldering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with hardware design processes, including schematics, PCB layout, and documentation.
• Available for a four-month work term beginning in January 2027.

Nice to have

• Interest in prototyping or embedded hardware projects.
• Exposure to optical transceivers, coherent optics, or telecommunications networking.
• Experience with statistical analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, Excel, or JMP.
• Experience with Cadence Allegro or scripting languages such as Python, Linux shell, PowerQuery, or Tcl.
• Confidence presenting ideas to colleagues and management.
